Every year, in December, the Calne Branch run a "Santa Cruise" for the local children.

Starting at the wharf they cruise down to see Father Christmas in his canalside grotto by the winding hole.

This is event always extremely popular with parents and children and as well as being thoroughly enjoyed by the people organising it.
