In the past the Wilts & Berks Canal was never well documented. There
are so few contemporary pictures of the working canal to make it next to
impossible to visualise how the canal looked during its useful life.
This makes it essential for us to actively seek out what material there is.
Surprisingly little gems do turn up: the Pall Mall article,
discovered by Graham Escott is a perfect example.
If you have anything about the Wilts & Berks
any era (inception to the present time), in any format (parchment to digital
video) then please contact us so that we can build up a comprehensive archive
for the future. We can copy anything!
Especially important are photographs, films and videos taken in the last few
years when so much has altered so dramatically.
